Endeavour Mining’s shares declined 1.5% to 4,132 pence on Wednesday, as the FTSE 100-listed gold producer tracked a retreat in commodity prices and a broader downturn in global equities.
The stock, which operates solely in West Africa, has retraced from its 52-week high of 5,605 pence but remains more than 70% above its 52-week low of 2,412 pence. The decline followed a drop in gold and copper prices, which pressured European metal miners across the sector.
U.S. equity benchmarks also fell, with the S&P 500 down 0.4% and the Nasdaq declining 1.2%, contributing to a climate of risk aversion that weighed on resource equities. Endeavour Mining, a constituent of the FTSE 100, derives all revenue from gold production in West Africa.
The company has recently pursued share buybacks to reduce its capital base, though these repurchases did not counterbalance the day’s selling pressure. Analysts maintain price targets above current levels, with no new rating changes reported on the session.
