Elastic NV said on Tuesday it completed the acquisition of Deductive AI, an AI-powered investigation platform focused on production issues, as part of its push to embed artificial intelligence into its Observability product suite.
The San Francisco-based company did not disclose financial terms of the deal. Deductive AI’s technology uses reinforcement learning to automate root cause analysis by collecting evidence, generating hypotheses, and cross-referencing code, telemetry, and organizational knowledge. The platform learns from each incident to refine future investigations, enabling engineering teams to resolve issues more quickly.
Ash Kulkarni, Elastic’s chief executive officer, said the acquisition advances the company’s aim of moving teams from detection to resolution faster. “Deductive AI brings a sophisticated reinforcement learning harness for root cause analysis that accelerates this work,” he said.
Rakesh Kothari, former CEO and co-founder of Deductive AI, said the integration with Elastic will expand the platform’s reach and accelerate the development of AI-powered investigation capabilities. Elastic’s Observability platform is used by thousands of organizations, including more than half of the Fortune 500.
Existing Deductive AI customers will continue to receive support while Elastic develops integration plans. Further details on product roadmaps and timelines are expected in the coming months.
