Discovery Mining Ltd. has appointed William Shaver to its board of directors and made a series of executive promotions. The company, listed on the TSX as DSV and on the OTCQX as DSVSF, operates gold and silver assets in Canada and Mexico, including the Porcupine assets in Ontario and the Cordero project in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Shaver co-founded Dynatec Corporation in 1980 and received the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2013. He has more than 60 years of mining experience. Ewan Downie was appointed Advisor to the President, CEO and Chairman. Downie has more than 30 years of North American exploration and mining experience, served as CEO of i-80 Gold Corp. until 2024, and was founder, president and CEO of Premier Gold Mines Inc. until its acquisition by Equinox Gold Corp. in 2021.
Duncan King was promoted from senior vice president, Canadian Operations, to co-chief operating officer, while Gord Leavoy moved from senior vice president, mineral processing, to co-chief operating officer. Eric Kallio was promoted to executive vice president, exploration; Darin Smith to executive vice president, business development and strategy; and Mark Utting to executive vice president, investor relations and communications. Amanda Kasner was promoted to senior vice president, finance and treasury, and Meri Verli to senior vice president, business improvements. Mike Mayhew was appointed vice president, special projects, with more than 30 years of mining and project execution experience.
