Denmark’s OMX Copenhagen 20 index closed 0.41% higher on Monday, as gains in consumer goods, personal & household goods, and oil & gas sectors offset declines elsewhere.
Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by 74 to 51 on the Copenhagen exchange, with 14 stocks unchanged. The index’s advance followed broader European equity strength, though regional energy prices weighed on commodity-linked equities.
Top performers included Coloplast A/S, which rose 5.45% to 462.50, and AP Moller - Maersk A and B shares, which gained 3.86% and 3.75% to 21,540.00 and 22,430.00, respectively. Zealand Pharma A/S led decliners with a 3.67% drop to 309.40, followed by Genmab at 2,112.00 and NKT Holding at 926.50.
Oil prices fell, with October WTI crude down 2.85% to $84.58 per barrel and November Brent crude down 2.43% to $90.42. In contrast, December gold futures rose 1.08% to $4,731.34 per troy ounce, approaching record territory.
Currency movements were minimal, with the USD/DKK pair flat at 6.41 and EUR/DKK nearly unchanged at 7.48. The U.S. Dollar Index futures gained 0.13% to 98.86.
