Major U.S. equities posted mixed performance on Wednesday, with gains concentrated in technology and industrial names while some earnings-driven movers declined.
Dell Inc. (DELL) rose 2.68% to lead mega-cap advancers, while Oracle Corp. (ORCL) added 2.08%. GE Vernova LLC (GEV) also gained 1.58% in the same tier. Among large-cap stocks, TTM Technologies (TTMI) surged 8.1%, the strongest percentage gain in the segment, after reporting robust demand for its electronics manufacturing services.
The gains were partially offset by declines in other large-cap issues. Dycom Industries Inc. (DY) fell 9.91% despite beating earnings estimates, as investors focused on its guidance. Moderna Inc. (MRNA) dropped 5.95% following its quarterly update.
Mid-cap stocks saw more pronounced volatility. Boise Inc. (BZ) led advancers with a 16.76% jump, while Comstock Resources Inc. (CRK) and Acadia Healthcare (ACHC) rose 6.64% and 5.59%, respectively. On the downside, Figure Technology Solutions Ltd (FIGR) fell 7.77%, Rumble (RUM) declined 8.22%, and CF Acquisition Corp VI (RUMBW) dropped 11.09%.
Small-cap movers included Cantor Equity Partners III Inc (AIIR), which gained 9.71%, and Omnilit Acquisition (OPTX), up 8.42%. Electromed Inc (ELMD) edged 12.29% lower despite beating fourth-quarter earnings forecasts, while JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd (JKS) slumped 14.84% after missing second-quarter revenue and earnings targets.
The mixed session reflected a rotation into select technology and industrial names while earnings-driven declines weighed on sentiment in other sectors.
