Creative Medical Technology Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: CELZ) announced that it has filed a U.S. provisional patent application for its Ultrasome cell‑free regenerative medicine platform. The filing, made on September 17, 2026, seeks intellectual‑property protection across product composition, biological potency, manufacturing and quality‑control methods, stability, delivery approaches and therapeutic applications. It also covers methods for evaluating changes in biological activity and for characterizing activity and consistency of the manufactured product.
The Ultrasome platform derives from the company’s Olastrocell regenerative medicine technology and was initially developed for knee osteoarthritis. A pilot study conducted in April 2026 reported that approximately 93% of participants experienced clinically meaningful improvements in mobility and pain, with no serious adverse events observed. The underlying cells are sourced from a Good Manufacturing Practice master cell bank, and manufacturing details are maintained in a U.S. Food and Drug Administration Drug Master File.
As a provisional application, the filing establishes an early U.S. priority date, allowing Creative Medical to pursue subsequent U.S. and international patent protection. The application has not yet been examined by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Timothy Warbington, president and chief executive officer, stated that protecting the platform’s therapeutic applications, underlying product characteristics, biological activity and manufacturing framework is important as understanding of the technology advances.
