Coty Inc on Thursday posted a fourth-quarter adjusted loss per share of $0.02, falling short of the $0.01 loss forecast by analysts, while revenue increased 7% year-over-year to $1.27 billion, topping the $1.19 billion estimate.
The beauty products group recorded a net loss of $15.8 million in the quarter, compared with a net loss of $11.7 million a year earlier. Revenue growth was driven by higher sales in its Prestige and Consumer Beauty divisions, partially offset by declines in its Professional Beauty segment.
Over the past 90 days, analysts have revised earnings estimates downward, with three positive revisions and eight negative adjustments. The stock closed at $3.03 on Wednesday, up 49.3% over the last three months but down 37.7% over the past year.
