Cisco Systems Inc. and Super Micro Computer announced a partnership to expand AI infrastructure offerings, integrating Supermicro's liquid- and air-cooled server systems into Cisco's Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA portfolio.
The collaboration, unveiled on Monday, will enable Cisco to provide rack-scale AI computing solutions to enterprise, neocloud, and sovereign cloud customers starting in October 2026. The architecture combines Cisco's AI networking systems with NVIDIA's Cloud Partner (NCP) compliant systems, featuring Silicon One-based switches for front-end operations and NVIDIA Spectrum-X switches for back-end operations, unified via Cisco Nexus One.
Cisco claims to be the only NVIDIA technology partner using its own networking switches and network operating system in an NCP-compliant solution. The infrastructure supports NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 and NVIDIA HGX Rubin NVL8 platforms for AI training and inference workloads.
Jeetu Patel, Cisco's President and Chief Product Officer, stated, "We are at the beginning of one of the largest datacenter buildouts in history. Every organization is racing to scale AI—but speed only counts if it comes with control of data, managed token costs, and real ROI."
Cisco will introduce Cisco Validated Infrastructure Services (CVIS), aligned with NVIDIA Infrastructure Services, to certify infrastructure deployment. A dedicated large-scale AI Lab will be established to develop testing tools and software for CVIS. The solution integrates NVIDIA AI Enterprise software with Cisco Cloud Control for infrastructure management and observability across compute, network interface cards, optics, and network performance metrics.
