China’s armed forces have launched a public campaign inviting whistleblowers to report alleged procurement violations within the elite Rocket Force, marking the latest phase of a broader anti-corruption drive initiated over a decade ago.
The notice, published Monday on the military’s procurement portal, invites submissions on suspected irregularities across multiple stages of the purchasing process, including requirements planning, bid evaluation, contract performance and online procurement. The campaign covers material services, engineering projects, supplementary food supplies, medical equipment or consumables, and projects handled by bidding agencies.
Whistleblowers are requested to provide objective and accurate information supported by legally obtained evidence. The military has set a deadline of the end of November for all submissions via a dedicated phone line.
The Rocket Force, responsible for managing China’s nuclear and conventional missile arsenal, has been a focal point of the country’s anti-corruption efforts since 2023. President Xi Jinping, who took office in 2012, initiated a sweeping crackdown on military corruption shortly after assuming leadership, targeting procurement practices across the armed forces.
The latest initiative reflects ongoing scrutiny of procurement activities within the Rocket Force, with authorities seeking to address alleged malpractice in material sourcing, project execution and supply chain management.
