A unit of China Automotive Systems Inc. has been awarded green factory certification, the company said on Monday.
The certification, granted by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, recognizes compliance with national environmental standards and sustainable manufacturing practices. The subsidiary operates within the group’s broader push toward eco-friendly production amid tightening regulatory scrutiny on industrial emissions.
China Automotive Systems did not disclose the name of the certified unit or the specific standards met. The company, which supplies steering and drivetrain components to domestic and international automakers, has been expanding its green initiatives in recent quarters as part of a broader sustainability strategy.
Green factory certifications are part of China’s broader industrial policy aimed at reducing carbon intensity and promoting cleaner manufacturing. The certification process evaluates energy efficiency, waste management, and emissions control, among other criteria.
China Automotive Systems’ shares were not immediately available for comment on the market impact of the certification.
