Cantor Fitzgerald has designated NVIDIA as its top semiconductor pick, aligning with Rosenblatt Securities in maintaining a positive outlook on the chipmaker’s prospects amid the artificial intelligence boom.
The firms reiterated their bullish assessments after NVIDIA’s shares advanced on expectations that upcoming quarterly results will surpass market consensus. Rosenblatt Securities projected that revenue and earnings will exceed current estimates, reinforcing confidence in the company’s growth trajectory.
Cantor Fitzgerald set forward-looking earnings per share targets of $17 for calendar year 2027 and $25 for 2028, based on NVIDIA’s projected financial performance. The stock currently trades at approximately 14 times the 2027 EPS estimate and 10 times the 2028 figure, according to the firm’s analysis.
Analysts highlighted NVIDIA’s leadership in AI infrastructure, including its role in the so-called "5-Layer AI Cake" framework, which outlines the layered architecture of modern AI systems. The model also incorporates a sixth layer derived from financial engineering strategies. The discussion comes as hyperscalers—large cloud providers—develop in-house custom silicon solutions, contrasting with non-hyperscaler AI builds that rely more heavily on third-party chips.
Separately, reports indicated NVIDIA is in preliminary talks to invest in Perplexity, an AI startup focused on large language models. The potential investment underscores NVIDIA’s strategic push beyond traditional chip sales into AI ecosystem development.
The updated ratings and valuation metrics reflect broader industry optimism toward NVIDIA’s positioning in the semiconductor sector, where demand for AI-capable hardware remains robust despite ongoing supply chain and pricing dynamics.
