Swiss industrial equipment manufacturer Burckhardt Compression announced plans to reduce its workforce by up to 220 positions as part of a restructuring initiative aimed at adapting to lower expected utilization in coming quarters.
The cuts include up to 150 jobs at the company’s Winterthur headquarters and up to 70 roles at international sites. The move is designed to streamline the company’s organizational structure, consolidate functions and optimize business processes, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The restructuring is expected to yield annual cost savings of approximately 20 million Swiss francs once fully implemented. Burckhardt anticipates one-time restructuring expenses of about 3 million francs in the first half of the 2026 fiscal year.
The final scope of the program will be determined following consultation with Swiss employee representatives, the company noted. Burckhardt also reaffirmed its previously issued guidance for the 2026 fiscal year.
The Winterthur-based company, which specializes in compressor technology, did not provide further details on the specific roles affected or the timeline for the consultations.
