Shares of agribusiness giant Bunge fell 2.2% in morning trading on Monday, retreating from an opening price of $113.13 to $110.67.
The decline followed the company’s ex-dividend date for its quarterly payment of $0.72 per share, which occurred on August 18. The annual dividend total, approved during the May 2026 annual general meeting, remains set at $2.88 per share. The stock’s recent performance contrasts with analyst sentiment, as UBS, Morgan Stanley, and BMO Capital reaffirmed "Buy" or "Outperform" ratings in early August following Bunge’s strong second-quarter results.
Bunge’s adjusted earnings per share (EPS) for Q2 2026 reached $2.00, exceeding consensus estimates. The company also raised its full-year guidance to a range of $9.25 to $9.75, signaling confidence in its operational outlook. Earlier this month, Bunge priced a $600 million unsecured senior notes offering maturing in 2031, with a fixed coupon of 5.000%.
The broader market showed mixed performance, with the S&P 500 down 0.3% and the Nasdaq declining 0.6%, while the Dow Jones traded nearly flat. Peer Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM) was not immune to the sector’s volatility.
