Breville Group’s shares declined 4.2% to A$31.70 on Wednesday, extending losses as investors weighed margin compression and rising cost pressures.
The Australian appliance maker reported total sales of A$1.81 billion for the fiscal year ending June 2026, a 6.7% increase on a reported basis and 9.7% in constant currency. Earnings before interest and taxes rose 1.2% to A$207 million, while net profit after tax increased 1.7% to A$138.1 million.
Gross margins narrowed to 36.0% for the full year, down from 36.6% in the prior period, though the second half showed improvement to 36.8%. Management noted that tariff and cost pressures could persist into fiscal 2027, contributing to investor caution.
The broader market context added to the pressure, with the S&P/ASX 200 declining 0.3% as global bond yields surged and geopolitical tensions in the Strait of Hormuz weighed on sentiment. No formal full-year guidance was provided, leaving near-term outlook uncertainty for the company.
