Shares of BrenX Ltd. surged 15.1% to $4.81 in pre-market trading on Nasdaq on Tuesday, extending gains tied to the company’s recent rebranding and strategic repositioning.
The company, formerly Brenmiller Energy Ltd., completed its name change to BrenX effective August 11 and began trading under the new ticker BRNX on August 14. The rebranding reflects a shift from thermal energy storage toward a broader energy platform integrating electrical power, heat storage, and smart energy optimization solutions.
Analysts attributed the pre-market surge to ongoing speculative momentum following the rebranding, rather than a specific corporate announcement on the day of the article. The company’s 52-week range spans from a low of $2.06 to a high of $512.40, underscoring the volatility characteristic of micro-capitalization stocks.
BrenX has highlighted operational milestones in recent months, including the inauguration of a large-scale thermal storage system for a beverage manufacturer and the acquisition of a solar power plant in Hungary. The company’s market capitalization remains in the low millions, reflecting its micro-cap status.
Broader equity benchmarks showed modest gains, with the S&P 500 up 0.4%, the Dow Jones rising 0.3%, and the Nasdaq gaining 0.8% on the same session.
The surge in BRNX shares follows a period of heightened interest in companies undergoing strategic pivots, particularly in the energy and sustainability sectors.
