BitFuFu Inc. shares fell sharply in premarket trading on Wednesday after the company reported second-quarter 2026 revenue that missed analyst expectations.
The crypto mining services provider said revenue for the three months ended June 30 totaled $42.3 million, below the $48.7 million average estimate compiled by Refinitiv. Net income declined to $8.1 million from $12.4 million in the same period a year earlier, as higher operational costs offset gains in transaction volume.
Chief Executive Officer Liu Wei attributed the shortfall to weaker-than-anticipated hash rate demand and elevated energy expenses in key mining regions. "Market conditions remain challenging, with pricing pressure across the sector and no immediate relief in sight," Wei said in prepared remarks. The company maintained its full-year revenue guidance at $180 million to $200 million, citing long-term contracts and cost optimization efforts.
Analysts at Jefferies noted that BitFuFu’s results reflect broader headwinds in the crypto mining industry, including reduced institutional appetite for hash rate purchases and regulatory scrutiny in major markets. The stock, which had gained 12% year-to-date prior to the report, dropped as much as 18% in premarket trading before paring losses to 12% by 08:30 ET.
Investors will monitor commentary on capital expenditure plans and debt levels, which have risen alongside infrastructure investments. The company’s cash position stood at $15.2 million at quarter-end, down from $22.7 million three months prior.
