Bitdeer AI, the artificial intelligence division of cryptocurrency mining firm Bitdeer, has finalized a five-year customer agreement covering approximately 50% of the capacity at its A102 data center in Malaysia.
The deal, signed with a high-credit-quality customer whose identity was not disclosed, is projected to generate roughly $400 million in total revenue over the contract term. Revenue recognition and associated costs are slated to commence in the first quarter of 2027, coinciding with the facility’s planned energization.
Bitdeer AI is advancing plans to expand its AI cloud data center capacity to 350 megawatts by the first quarter of 2028. The Malaysia facility represents part of this broader infrastructure build-out, as the company diversifies from its core Bitcoin mining operations into high-performance computing and AI services.
The agreement follows Bitdeer’s recent expansion into Europe, where it secured a 16-year lease valued at $4.7 billion for 121 megawatts of AI computing capacity in Norway. Other publicly traded Bitcoin miners transitioning into AI infrastructure include MARA Holdings, TeraWulf, Hut 8 and IREN.
Bitdeer’s shares rose 7% on Wednesday and nearly 6% in pre-market trading on Thursday, reaching $10.20 per share as of 12:16 p.m. UTC, according to Yahoo Finance data.
