AttoTude Inc. has reduced its application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design cycle to less than six weeks by adopting Keysight Technologies Inc.’s electronic design automation (EDA) software platform. The advancement leverages AttoTude’s Dielectric interconnect technology, which spans signaling frequencies from 100 GHz to 3 THz, enabling high-speed data rates per lane of 200G, 400G, and 800G.
The collaboration with Keysight’s Advanced Design System platform provided AttoTude with integrated design data management software, replacing fragmented workflows with a unified system. The platform’s version control and traceability features allowed engineers working on sub-THz and THz subsystems to coordinate tasks efficiently, reducing development time while maintaining precision in simulation fidelity.
AttoTude achieved first-pass silicon success in advanced radio frequency, sub-terahertz, and terahertz tape-outs, a critical milestone for high-performance ASICs. Richard Chan, ASIC architect and development lead at AttoTude, emphasized the platform’s role in meeting the exceptional design and simulation accuracy required for dielectric-based interconnects operating across the 100 GHz to 3 THz range.
Keysight Technologies, whose EDA tools underpin AttoTude’s workflow, reported a closing share price of $319.97 on August 28, down 1.80% from the prior session. After-hours trading showed a further decline of 0.62% to $318.00.
The development coincides with projections for the global semiconductor market, which is expected to reach $1.3 trillion in revenue by 2026, with AI semiconductors anticipated to account for 30% of that total.
