Atome PLC said it has secured funding for a solar photovoltaic feasibility study in Paraguay, targeting a potential 300MWp capacity near its Villeta green fertilizer plant. The London-listed company, traded on the AIM market under ticker `AIM:ATOM` (`ATOMA`), noted the agreement involves a multilateral development bank's dollar fund that will provide both financial and technical support for the study, subject to agreed terms.
The project, which could expand into an industrial park integrating solar generation and battery storage, is located on land adjacent to Atome's existing fertilizer facility in Villeta, Paraguay. The company highlighted its access to substantial land holdings in the area as a key advantage for the development.
Atome Paraguay, the company's local unit, must secure a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) before proceeding with the feasibility study and subsequent project phases. The company said it will provide further updates once its position regarding the PPA is resolved. Atome is advised by Beaumont Cornish (nominated adviser) and SP Angel (broker).
