ASA International Group plc (LSE:ASAI) announced on 9 September 2026 that Geert Embrechts has been appointed to its board of directors as an executive director, effective from that date.
Embrechts had been named the company's chief financial officer on 6 November 2025 and started the role on 1 February 2026, with a later board appointment intended. The company said the board appointment followed that earlier plan.
ASA International Group describes itself as one of the world's largest international microfinance institutions. It provides small loans to low-income entrepreneurs, predominantly women, across South Asia, South East Asia, West Africa and East Africa.
The company said there was no additional information to disclose under Listing Rule 6.4.8R(1) to 6.4.8R(6) in relation to Embrechts. The announcement was made under Listing Rule 6.4.6R.
