Artificial intelligence developer Anthropic is expected to tell investors that the total addressable market for its AI models could exceed $30 trillion, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
The figure, which Anthropic defines as the annual revenue opportunity if its services achieved full market penetration, surpasses the $28.5 trillion estimate previously outlined by SpaceX in its May initial public offering filing. SpaceX attributed the majority of its market opportunity to AI technology.
Anthropic, which operates the Claude chatbot, has projected revenue of roughly $190 billion to $200 billion for 2028, a figure reported earlier this month by Reuters. The company's total addressable market estimate is intended to justify its current valuation, support ongoing infrastructure investments, and guide product development priorities.
The projections are seen as critical to Anthropic's growth narrative ahead of a planned initial public offering. The company's IPO valuation is closely tied to its 2028 revenue forecasts, which are central to its competitive positioning against rivals such as OpenAI and Google.
Anthropic did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
