Anavex Life Sciences Corp. (NASDAQ: AVXL) announced that shareholders voted to elect all six director nominees at the company's 2026 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, according to a preliminary vote count released September 24.
The results, as yet preliminary, remain subject to change until final tabulation by an independent inspector of election and reporting in a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The newly elected board consists of Dr. Jiong Ma, who will serve as independent chair, alongside directors Dr. Peter Donhauser, Dr. Axel Paeger, Gautam Patel, Dr. Adrian Senderowicz, and Dr. Claus van der Velden.
"On behalf of the new Anavex Board of Directors, I would like to thank our stockholders for their trust and support during a pivotal time for our business," Dr. Ma said in a statement.
The company said it plans to refresh its committee memberships once the new board is formally constituted, with assignments to be disclosed after final voting results are filed.
Anavex, described as a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing treatments for central nervous system diseases, engaged Hogan Lovells Cadwalader US LLP and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP as legal counsel, Collected Strategies as strategic communications advisor, and SCR Partners LLC as investor relations advisor for the meeting.
