Anavex Life Sciences Corp. (NASDAQ: AVXL) announced preliminary results from its 2026 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, with all six director nominees elected to the board.
The vote tallies, compiled by the company's proxy solicitor, remain preliminary until final results are tabulated, certified by an independent inspector of election, and reported in a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The newly elected directors are Dr. Jiong Ma, serving as independent chair of the board; Dr. Peter Donhauser; Dr. Axel Paeger; Gautam Patel; Dr. Adrian Senderowicz; and Dr. Claus van der Velden.
"On behalf of the new Anavex Board of Directors, I would like to thank our stockholders for their trust and support during a pivotal time for our business," Dr. Ma said in a statement.
Anavex said it will refresh its board committee memberships following the constitution of the newly elected directors and plans to disclose the updated assignments after final voting results are filed.
The company retained Hogan Lovells Cadwalader US LLP and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP as legal counsel, Collected Strategies as strategic communications advisor, and SCR Partners LLC as investor relations advisor for the annual meeting proceedings.
