AmpliTech Group’s Microwave Design Center (AGMDC) unit in Hauppauge, New York, has received orders for three custom Gallium Arsenide components designed for phased array satellite communications systems. The contracts were awarded following a competitive, performance-based sourcing process, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
The division, led by President Jim Carroll, collaborated closely with the customer’s engineering team throughout the design and qualification phases, according to the company. Carroll stated the selection reflects the division’s technical solutions and engineering capabilities.
AmpliTech Group, listed on the NASDAQ under ticker AMPG and AMPGZ, designs, develops and manufactures RF and microwave signal processing components for applications in satellites, telecommunications, quantum computing, defense, space and semiconductors. The company operates through several subsidiaries, including AmpliTech Inc., Specialty Microwave, Spectrum Semiconductor Materials, AGMDC and True G Speed Services.
Fawad Maqbool, founder, chairman, president and CEO of AmpliTech Group, said the win validates the company’s engineering talent and technological capabilities. The orders follow a competitive procurement process focused on performance, he added.
The components are slated for use in satellite communications systems, a segment where AmpliTech has expanded its presence in recent years.
