American Ocean Minerals appoints Paul Warmé as CFO
The deep-sea mining firm names an industry veteran to lead its finance team amid expansion plans.

American Ocean Minerals Ltd. has appointed Paul Warmé as its chief financial officer, effective immediately, the company said on Monday.
Warmé brings over two decades of experience in corporate finance and resource-sector leadership, having previously held CFO roles at mid-tier mining and exploration firms. His appointment follows American Ocean Minerals’ push to advance its deep-sea mining projects, which focus on polymetallic nodules rich in cobalt, nickel, and rare earth elements critical for battery production.
The company, listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker AOM, said Warmé will oversee financial strategy, capital allocation, and investor relations as it scales operations. No further details on his compensation or prior tenure were disclosed.
American Ocean Minerals has been raising capital to fund exploration and pilot mining initiatives in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone of the Pacific Ocean, a region targeted for its high-grade mineral deposits. The move comes as global demand for battery metals surges amid the energy transition.
Warmé’s hiring underscores the sector’s growing focus on securing executive talent to navigate regulatory, technical, and financing challenges in deep-sea mining.
