The company reported a trailing twelve months (TTM) revenue of $417.8 million, representing a 20% year-over-year growth. Ambarella’s annual revenue base is approximately $400 million, with a gross profit margin of 58.52%. The company has set a revenue growth guidance of 10% to 15% for fiscal 2027, with a forecasted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.81.
Ambarella’s revenue is primarily driven by the Internet of Things (IoT) segment, which accounts for about 75% to 78% of its total revenue. The enterprise security and consumer video segment combined contributes about 45% of the total revenue, followed by the automotive segment at 30% and wearables at 10%. The average selling price (ASP) for systems-on-chips (SoCs) is around $15 in fiscal 2026.
The company’s stock was trading at approximately $68.81, with a market capitalization of $3.04 billion. The stock has seen a 25% decline over the past year, with a high beta of 2.09. The current ratio is 2.85.
Ambarella’s AI portfolio spans from 1 TOPS to 1,000 TOPS, with 15 AI SoCs in its product line. The company has a unified software development kit (SDK) called Cooper, which works across all 15 AI SoCs. Ambarella has access to 2nm and 4nm process nodes, with the first full 2nm chip entering production.
A significant development at the conference was the announcement of a long-term agreement with Hanwha Vision, valued at about $800 million. This agreement aims to develop a family of chips for internal use, with Hanwha committing to making Ambarella its main AI semiconductor supplier.
Competitors mentioned include NVIDIA, known for high raw performance but higher power consumption, and Qualcomm, noted for being more efficient than GPUs but still less power-efficient than Ambarella. Synaptics was mentioned as covering roughly 1 TOPS to 10 TOPS with limited overlap. Analog Devices, Inc. announced a deal to acquire an edge AI startup company for $1.5 billion, which has little revenue and sub-1-TOPS to 1-TOP performance.
CEO Fermi Wang highlighted the challenges in the edge AI market, stating, “The biggest problem for this market today is there is no one vertical like coding for data centers.” He emphasized competitive differentiation through performance per watt, stating, “Every time we try to build on a design win, the biggest differentiation for us is always performance per watt. At the end, it's power efficiency.”
Design-to-production cycles for telematics are 12 to 18 months, while OEM autonomous driving programs take 3 to 4 years.
