Alpha Metallurgical Resources Inc. (NASDAQ: AMR) said on Friday that director Michael Gorzynski acquired 10,000 shares of common stock for approximately $2.09 million at $208.9169 per share.
The transaction was executed on August 21, 2026, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The shares were purchased at a price below the company’s current trading level of $214.25 and the InvestingPro fair value estimate of $235.60.
Gorzynski’s purchase follows a week in which AMR’s stock rose nearly 24%, extending a recent rally. The company reported a second-quarter loss of $0.96 per share on revenue of $492.86 million, missing analyst expectations of a $0.32 profit and $577.23 million in sales. Management attributed the shortfall to storm damage at a key terminal, lower metallurgical coal prices, and elevated fuel and supply costs.
The transaction brings Gorzynski’s total direct ownership to 5,713 shares. His broader group, which includes Continental General Insurance Company, Percy Rockdale LLC, and MG Capital Management Ltd., collectively holds more than 10% of Alpha Metallurgical’s outstanding common stock. Gorzynski serves as manager of Continental General Holdings LLC, sole manager of Percy Rockdale LLC, and sole director of MG Capital Management Ltd.
