American International Group Inc. on Wednesday named Anthony Vassallo as global head of energy, a role previously held by Warren Meigs, who is retiring after more than three decades with the insurer.
Vassallo, who joins from Allianz, brings over 23 years of experience in natural resources and energy insurance, most recently serving as global head of natural resources at Allianz. His appointment follows the announcement by Gordon Browne, AIG’s head of specialty, who outlined the transition as part of broader leadership adjustments within the division.
Meigs, who is retiring, joined AIG in 2009 after spending more than seven years at Hartford Steam Boiler, where he held roles in energy and construction underwriting. His tenure at AIG spanned 33 years, culminating in his role as global head of energy and construction, a position now set to be filled by Vassallo.
