AeroVironment Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV) announced plans to consolidate its Southern California operations into a new $100 million campus in Moorpark, California, as part of a strategic infrastructure investment.
The company, which develops autonomous systems, loitering munitions, and counter-UAS technologies, will combine research, engineering, design, prototyping, and production teams from five leased locations into a single 20-acre facility. The consolidation aims to reduce operational friction and streamline workflows across multiple sites, according to Chief Operating Officer Rob Smith.
Construction and renovation activities are expected to begin in fiscal 2028, with a phased transition of employees and operations. The new campus is slated to become fully operational by 2029. AeroVironment, founded over five decades ago in Southern California, emphasized the long-term commitment to the state through the investment.
The $100 million expenditure aligns with the company’s previously issued fiscal 2027 capital expenditure guidance. Core activities, including research and development, engineering, design, and production, will remain centered in California, reinforcing the company’s operational footprint in the region.
