Adani Energy Solutions gained 1.5% on Wednesday after securing a ₹4,700 crore power transmission project in Maharashtra through competitive bidding, the company’s lowest-cost bid in the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding process.
The project, housed under a new special purpose vehicle named Satara Power Transmission Ltd, involves constructing 562 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and adding 9,000 MVA of transformation capacity. The infrastructure will support the evacuation of up to 4,500 MW of renewable and storage power, strengthening inter-regional transmission links between western and southern India. Completion is scheduled within 36 months.
The company also reported a 124% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹1,149 crore for the quarter ended June 2025, alongside a 42% rise in sales to ₹9,711 crore. The financial performance follows the project award and coincides with a broader rally in Indian equities, with the Nifty and BSE Sensex advancing during the session.
MSCI is set to include Adani Energy Solutions in the MSCI India Index effective August 31, 2026, a move analysts estimate could generate approximately $310 million in passive fund inflows.
