Gold futures declined during the Asian trading session on Wednesday, with December contracts on the Comex exchange down 0.14% to $4,700.85 per troy ounce.
The metal faced technical levels at $4,506.00 as support and $4,754.01 as resistance. The decline occurred as the U.S. dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, advanced 0.08% to 98.92.
Elsewhere in precious metals, September silver futures rose 0.71% to $69.17 per troy ounce, while September copper futures climbed 0.71% to $6.76 per pound.
