Valens Semiconductor (NYSE: VLN) has appointed Asaf Silberstein, the former Chief Operating Officer of Semtech Corporation (NYSE: SMTC), to its board of directors. The move is part of Valens' strategy to strengthen its leadership team as it enters its next growth phase.
Silberstein, who began serving as Executive Vice President and COO of Semtech in March 2023, has a rich background in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining Semtech, he was the Vice President of Global Operations at Microsemi and the Chief Operating Officer at PowerDsine before its acquisition by Microsemi. He also held positions at 3Com and ECI Telecom.
Valens Semiconductor is a provider of high-performance connectivity chipsets for audio-video installations, videoconferencing, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Software Defined Vehicles. The company's chipsets contribute to industry standards including HDBaseT and MIPI A-PHY.
