Teradyne director sells $56,997 of shares after record quarter

Teradyne director Mercedes Johnson sold 167 shares of the company's common stock for $56,997 on September 1, 2026, at $341.30 per share. The sale was executed under a pre-established trading plan that Johnson adopted on March 4, 2026, in compliance with Rule 10b5-1 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

After the transaction, Johnson held 6,364 shares of Teradyne common stock directly. She also held 1,876 shares indirectly through The Mercedes Johnson Trust UAD 07/23/04, for which she serves as trustee and sole beneficiary.

Teradyne shares, listed on NASDAQ under the ticker TER, fell 7.6% over the preceding week. The stock had delivered a 179% return over the past year. InvestingPro analysis said the shares traded above fair value and were listed among the platform's most overvalued equities.

The sale followed second-quarter results that exceeded analyst estimates. Teradyne reported non-GAAP earnings per share of $2.47, above estimates of $2.06, and revenue of $1.33 billion, above estimates of $1.22 billion. The results marked the second consecutive quarter of record revenue for the company, driven by strong demand in artificial intelligence and data center spending.

Baird downgraded Teradyne from Outperform to Neutral, citing valuation concerns and a lack of short-term catalysts. Analyst Quinn Fredrickson raised doubts about the sustainability of capital expenditure growth in AI and among major cloud providers, alongside data center challenges and rising interest rates. Baird set a price target of $420.
