Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc. shares touched a 52-week low of $42.39 on Sept. 8, 2026, amid downward pressure and broader market conditions affecting the sector. The stock was down 19% over the past six months and 5% over the past year.

The $2.47 billion pharmaceutical company reported second-quarter revenue of $219.1 million, above Wall Street estimates of $205.63 million. Adjusted earnings per share were a loss of $1.01, compared with expectations for a $0.43 profit. Analyst price targets for the stock range from $55 to $67, implying about 44% upside from the 52-week low. InvestingPro analysis said the shares appear overvalued relative to fair value.

Supernus has announced a merger with Indivior Pharmaceuticals intended to create a larger CNS-focused drugmaker. The combined company is expected to have pro forma revenue of about $2.2 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $888 million.

Macquarie reported that global biotech funding rose 75% year over year through Aug. 7, driven by increases in initial public offerings and follow-on offerings.
