Simon Brönnimann appointed permanent head of FINMA's Recovery and Resolution division
FINMA's Board of Directors confirmed Simon Brönnimann as head of its Recovery and Resolution division and added him to the Executive Board, effective 1 June 2026.
The Board of Directors of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) announced that Simon Brönnimann will become the permanent Head of the Recovery and Resolution division.
Brönnimann, who has been leading the division on an interim basis since April 2026, will assume the permanent role on 1 June 2026.
The appointment also makes him a member of FINMA’s Executive Board, the authority’s senior decision‑making body responsible for overall supervisory strategy.
FINMA serves as Switzerland’s integrated financial market supervisor, overseeing banks, insurers, securities firms and asset managers to ensure market integrity and stability.
The Recovery and Resolution division supervises institutions’ recovery plans and resolution frameworks, aiming to facilitate orderly restructuring or wind‑down of distressed firms while protecting financial stability.
