Saudi Arabia’s benchmark stock index, the Tadawul All Share, fell 0.11% on Wednesday, capping a session of modest declines as investors adopted a cautious stance ahead of corporate earnings and macroeconomic data.

The index closed at 12,450.30 points, down from an opening level of 12,463.80, reflecting broad-based weakness across major sectors. Energy stocks, typically a bellwether for the market, edged lower alongside financials, while consumer and healthcare shares also contributed to the pullback.

Trading volumes remained subdued, with 145 million shares changing hands, below the 30-day average of 160 million. The decline follows three consecutive sessions of gains, during which the index had recouped some of the losses from the prior week’s downturn.

Analysts attributed the muted sentiment to a mix of profit-taking and lingering concerns over global economic growth, particularly in major trading partners such as China and the euro zone. Oil prices, a key driver for the Saudi market, showed little directional movement during the session, providing limited support to energy-linked equities.

The Tadawul All Share has gained 3.2% over the past month but remains 2.1% below its year-to-date high, reached in late July. Investors will be watching closely for any updates on Saudi Arabia’s fiscal policy and oil production decisions in the coming weeks, as these factors often influence market direction.
