Medicus Pharma Ltd. (NASDAQ: MDCX) posted the results of a Phase 2 clinical trial for its investigational skin cancer drug SkinJect on September 10, 2026, with data published on ClinicalTrials.gov.
The randomized, double-blind, multicenter study — designated SKNJCT-003 — enrolled 90 patients across ten U.S. sites. All 90 enrolled patients completed the trial, with zero treatment discontinuations or withdrawals, according to the filing.
The trial evaluated two dose levels of SkinJect compared with a device-only microneedle comparator in patients with centrally confirmed nodular basal cell carcinoma. The company selected the 200-microgram dose for future clinical development, and future study endpoints will incorporate a composite complete response measure combining clinical and histological clearance.
SkinJect is being developed primarily for Gorlin syndrome, a rare autosomal dominant condition in which patients develop numerous basal cell carcinoma lesions. The company estimates approximately 11,000 patients in the United States have active Gorlin syndrome–related basal cell carcinoma, representing roughly 50,000 procedures annually.
Medicus said it has received an FDA "Study May Proceed" letter authorizing a Phase 2b trial, designated SKNJCT-005, which is designed to enroll up to approximately 50 patients with Gorlin syndrome presenting with multiple basal cell carcinomas.
In a 2026 company-commissioned commercial assessment, Medicus estimated Net Pricing of approximately $25,800 per treatment, a total addressable market in the U.S. of approximately $1.1 billion, and peak U.S. revenue potential of approximately $383 million. The company cautioned that those figures are non-risk-adjusted and depend on successful clinical development, regulatory approval, reimbursement and commercial adoption.
