215A posts stronger Q1 2026 sales as new plan gains traction

Japan-based human resources platform Timee Inc, trading under the ticker 215A, reported consolidated first-quarter net sales of JPY 10.044 billion, representing a 24.8% year-over-year increase for the fiscal period ending April 2027.

Operating profit rose 5.8% to JPY 1.93 billion, with both sales and operating profit standing at approximately 21% of the company's full-year forecasts, according to the firm's financial disclosure. The result continues a trend of positive consolidated performance after two quarters of negative year-over-year growth in Japan's food-service sector since fiscal year 2025.

Management characterized its current strategy as a shift "from defense to offense," running parallel initiatives that include its long-term part-time support hiring plan, upgrades to social-care products, and preparations for a listing transition to Tokyo Stock Exchange's Prime Market.

The new part-time hiring program, which officially launched on August 1, offers monthly plans starting from JPY 20,000, with average customer spending around JPY 40,000 per location under the primary Basic plan. That plan accounts for roughly 90% of subscriptions. Chief Executive Officer Shoken Arai projected the business could potentially reach close to JPY 10 billion in revenue within five years.

Sector performance showed mixed results. Transaction volume across the company rose 18.8% year-over-year, though the logistics segment faced macro headwinds including cooler summer temperatures and elevated crude oil prices tied to Middle East tensions, which increased costs for oil-derived materials such as naphtha. A number of major logistics clients also reduced usage by relying more heavily on in-house staff. Within that segment, transaction volume per active account grew 1.4% year-over-year.

In the food service vertical, Timee repositioned its platform to address daily and monthly sales growth rather than solely labor shortages, targeting undersupply gaps through expanded offerings in contract services, cafeterias, institutional cooking, and school meal preparation.

Social care emerged as a bright spot, with transaction volume per active account turning positive for the first time thanks to product adaptations including flexible scheduling, shift-alignment tools, and app-based onboarding. Additionally, the firm announced a co-creation partnership with robotics developer ZEALS to pursue physical AI applications aimed at operational efficiency in labor-intensive industries.

Shares of 215A traded at $1,559, up 1.37% from a previous close of $1,538. The stock remains about 28% below its 52-week high of $2,175 and roughly 51.1% above its 52-week low of $1,032, with a 30% return over the past six months. Analyst consensus, per InvestingPro data, anticipates fiscal 2027 revenue growth of 34%, while gross margin for the trailing twelve months stood at 91.75%.
