London Gas Oil climbed to $1,453.75, rising $58.75 or 4.21%, on Sept. 10, as technical indicators pointed to stretched conditions in the petroleum product.
The contract remains positioned above both its 50-period and 200-period simple moving averages, with the 50-period SMA converging alongside the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level near $1,343 — a zone acting as major support.
Price action has been confined within a $1,343 to $1,432 range, described by analysts as a choppy trading zone between $1,348 and $1,400 where positions are difficult to establish. The SuperTrend resistance zone sits at $1,432.
The Relative Strength Index registered at 50, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator flashed bearish momentum signals. Average True Range came in at 25.65, representing 1.86% volatility.
Traders eyeing bullish setups identified aggressive entry points at $1,385 on a break above the Ichimoku cloud, with conservative entries at $1,435 following a trend reversal. A move below $1,343 would invalidate the bullish structure, potentially accelerating declines toward $1,310 and $1,273.
On the flip side, bears targeted a breakdown below $1,370 as an aggressive short signal, with a more conservative entry at $1,340 if support erodes. Lower targets sit at $1,310, $1,273 and $1,251.
Both directional scenarios carried medium confidence ratings with risk-reward ratios ranging from 1.5 to nearly 3-to-1 depending on entry and target selection.
