Harvest Minerals Limited, listed on the London Stock Exchange, has entered a 24-month Technical-Scientific Cooperation Agreement with Serviço Geológico do Brasil (Brazil's geological survey) to advance research into rare earth elements (REEs) and strategic minerals.
The agreement, executed through Harvest's subsidiary Scanty Mineração Ltda, carries no cost to the company for work requested by the geological survey. Harvest will retain access to all data and results generated under the programme, which begins immediately with an exchange of samples between the parties.
The collaboration focuses on rare earth element potential across four project areas in Brazil's Ribeira Belt, spanning the states of São Paulo and Paraná: Capão Bonito, Carambeí, Cerro Azul, and Sguário Granite.
Capão Bonito is Harvest's principal project. Previous exploratory work there included 76 auger holes totalling 839 metres, which returned a peak grade of 5,662 parts per million total rare earth oxides. Mineralised intercepts at the site reached up to 17 metres in thickness.
Reconnaissance drilling programmes were completed at the Sguário, Carambeí, and Cerro Azul projects during 2025, with assay results still pending.
Brian McMaster, chairman of Harvest, said the partnership comes at a time when securing domestic supplies of critical minerals — particularly REEs — has become an increasingly important strategic priority for Brazil.
