Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) executed a series of stock transactions in August, according to disclosures from the congressman's office.
Salazar purchased Berkshire Hathaway common stock on Aug. 7 through a UBS IRA account, with the transaction valued between $1,001 and $15,000. The holding company, which has a market capitalization of $1.08 trillion, was trading at a P/E ratio of 12.73 and a PEG ratio of 0.35 at the time.
On Aug. 19, she sold Chubb Limited shares through a UBS Brokerage Account, valuing the sale between $15,001 and $50,000. Chubb is a Swiss-domiciled global insurance provider listed on the NYSE under the ticker CB.
Two days later on Aug. 24, Salazar carried out four transactions involving two additional stocks. She partially sold IBM common stock through both a UBS Brokerage Account and a UBS IRA Account, with each sale valued between $1,001 and $15,000. On the same day, she purchased Merck & Co. common stock twice — once through a UBS IRA account and once through a UBS Brokerage Account — each valued between $15,001 and $50,000.
The disclosures also referenced transactions in Moderna, QUALCOMM, and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. common stock.
Congressional stock trades are publicly disclosed under the STOCK Act, which requires members of Congress to report securities transactions within 45 days of execution.
