Cingulate releases pharmacokinetic study for ADHD drug candidate

Cingulate Inc. on Monday announced the publication of a pharmacokinetic study evaluating CTx-1301, its investigational drug candidate for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

The Phase I trial assessed the drug’s absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion in healthy volunteers, providing data on dosing, safety and tolerability. Cingulate said the results support the continued development of CTx-1301, which is designed as a once-daily, extended-release treatment.

The study’s findings were published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, though Cingulate did not disclose specific numerical data in its announcement. The company plans to advance CTx-1301 into further clinical trials as part of its broader pipeline of CNS-focused therapies.

ADHD treatments currently on the market include stimulants such as methylphenidate and amphetamines, as well as non-stimulants like atomoxetine. Cingulate’s candidate aims to offer an alternative with a differentiated pharmacokinetic profile, potentially improving patient adherence and reducing side effects.

Cingulate is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel therapies for central nervous system disorders.
