China Pacific Insurance vice chair Lu Qiaoling resigns

Lu Qiaoling has resigned as vice chairman of China Pacific Insurance Group (CPIC), the company said in a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Friday.

The resignation, effective immediately, comes amid broader corporate governance adjustments at CPIC, which ranks as China’s second-largest insurer by premium income. The insurer did not provide a reason for the departure in its disclosure.

CPIC’s board will proceed with the necessary procedures to fill the vacancy, the filing stated. Lu’s resignation follows recent leadership changes within the group, including the appointment of a new chairman earlier this year.

China Pacific Insurance, headquartered in Shanghai, operates across life, property and casualty, and asset management segments. The company’s shares were down 0.8% at midday in Shanghai trading on Friday, underperforming the broader market.
