Big Ridge Gold Corp. (TSXV: BRAU, OTCQB: ALVLF) announced the appointment of Garett Macdonald to its board of directors. Macdonald brings more than 30 years of industry experience, most recently serving as vice president of operations and general manager at Hemlo Mining Corporation.
He previously led Maritime Resources as president and CEO in Newfoundland and Labrador, where he guided the Hammerdown gold project from concept through first gold production. Maritime was acquired in 2025 by New Found Gold for $292 million. His prior roles include consultant at Dalradian Resources, where he managed the feasibility study for the Curraghinalt gold project, and positions with New Gold and Rainy River Resources on the Rainy River project in Northern Ontario. He also held mine operations supervision roles at Suncor Energy and Placer Dome Inc. Macdonald holds an MBA from Western University’s Ivey Business School and a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from Laurentian University.
As part of the appointment, Macdonald received 300,000 stock options under the company’s Amended and Restated Option Plan. The options carry an exercise price of $0.51 per share, vest immediately upon grant, and expire on September 15, 2031.
Big Ridge Gold is an exploration and development company with 100% interest in three projects: the Hope Brook Gold Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, the Oxford Gold Project in Manitoba, and the Destiny Gold Project in Quebec.
