Tempus AI (NASDAQ: TEM) has extended its data partnership with Recursion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: RXRX) through November 2029, shifting its financial commitment from a discretionary fee structure to a fixed obligation.

The revised agreement replaces previously disclosed discretionary license fees that could have totaled $84 million over two years. Under the new terms, Tempus will make committed payments totaling $42 million across three years, effectively halving its maximum exposure while extending the relationship's duration by a year beyond the original two-year window.

The original partnership was first established in 2023. In addition to the amended data agreement, Recursion granted Tempus a separate non-exclusive, worldwide license to its RNA sequencing model, TxFM.

Tempus, based in Chicago, is a technology company operating in the precision medicine space. It uses artificial intelligence and multimodal data to assist physicians with patient care and therapeutic development.
