Sampo plc bought back 2,259,333 of its own A shares during week 38 (Sept. 14-18), its third trading period under a €350 million share-repurchase program authorized by shareholders on April 22 and announced May 6.
The weighted average purchase price across four market venues was €9.41 per share, according to the company's weekly buyback statement issued Monday.
Of the total, 1,308,905 shares were acquired on the Helsinki exchange (XHEL) at €9.41, 795,610 on CEUX at €9.40, 127,470 on TQEX at €9.40 and 27,348 on AQEU at €9.42.
Transaction volume came to roughly €21.3 million for the period.
Sampo now holds 32,778,801 A shares, representing 1.23% of total issued shares. Transactions are being executed by Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc on Sampo's behalf under the framework of EU Market Abuse Regulation 596/2014 and Commission Delegated Regulation 2016/1052.
