Post Holdings Shares Hit 52-Week Low as Analysts Cut Forecasts

Post Holdings shares fell to a 52-week low of $75.38 on Thursday, leaving the cereal maker roughly 36% below its 52-week peak of $117.28 and extending a one-year decline to 26.42%.

The downturn comes as five analysts recently revised their earnings projections downward for the coming period, according to InvestingPro data, adding pressure to a stock trading at a P/E ratio of 13.92.

In its fiscal third-quarter 2026 report, Post posted adjusted earnings per share of $1.78, topping Wall Street's estimate of $1.72. Revenue, however, came in at $1.94 billion, missing the consensus forecast of $2.03 billion. Management highlighted that the food-service division continued to deliver strong results during the quarter.

Looking ahead, preliminary guidance for fiscal 2027 suggested that adjusted EBITDA could remain flat for the year, offering little near-term relief for investors.

Separately, Morgan Stanley released sales data for the pet food and cat litter categories, drawing on NielsenIQ All Measured Outlets figures. The data showed slight growth in the pet sector over a recent four-week stretch compared with the prior 12 weeks, though the improvement was modest.
