Organon has opened enrollment for a post-market safety study of its Miudella intrauterine device (IUD), the company announced.
The program aims to assess real-world safety data for the contraceptive product, which received U.S. regulatory approval in 2023. Enrollment will include patients using Miudella across multiple clinical sites to gather data on adverse events and device performance.
Organon, a subsidiary of Merck & Co., did not disclose the number of participants targeted for the study. The company stated that the program aligns with ongoing commitments to monitor the safety of its medical products post-approval.
The Miudella IUD is designed for long-term contraception and is positioned as a low-maintenance alternative to other birth control methods. Organon did not provide a timeline for when preliminary results from the safety program may be available.
