Harvard Bioscience raises 2026 guidance after Q3 beat

Harvard Bioscience Inc. reported third-quarter results that exceeded analyst forecasts, prompting the company to raise its revenue guidance for 2026.

The medical technology company said net income rose to $12.4 million, or 36 cents per share, from $8.1 million, or 23 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share totaled 41 cents, surpassing the 35-cent consensus estimate compiled by Refinitiv. Revenue increased 11% to $108.7 million, above the $103.2 million forecast.

For 2026, Harvard Bioscience now expects revenue between $460 million and $475 million, up from its prior range of $440 million to $455 million. The company attributed the upward revision to sustained demand for its life sciences research tools and consumables, particularly in the biopharmaceutical and academic sectors.

Chief Executive Officer James Green noted that the improved outlook reflects "strong execution" across the company’s core markets. "We continue to see robust demand for our products, driven by ongoing research and development activities in the life sciences sector," Green said in a statement.

Harvard Bioscience, which provides instruments and consumables for drug discovery and academic research, has benefited from increased funding in biotechnology and pharmaceutical development. The company’s shares were up 4% in premarket trading following the results.

Analysts at William Blair maintained their outperform rating on the stock, citing the raised guidance as a positive signal for long-term growth.
