GlobalFoundries, MPS Ink Long-Term Manufacturing Pact for Singapore Fab

GlobalFoundries and Monolithic Power Systems (NASDAQ: MPWR) have entered into a long-term manufacturing agreement that will bring MPS process technology to GlobalFoundries' 300mm facility in Singapore.

The deal is aimed at expanding manufacturing capacity for power management solutions and providing customers with greater supply assurance, the companies said. Volume production is targeted for early 2027.

Under the agreement, GlobalFoundries will support MPS's product roadmap across several high-growth segments, including data centers, automotive, consumer, industrial, electrification, and artificial intelligence markets. Planned products include power solutions for automotive architectures, power stages for AI and cloud infrastructure, and systems for industrial robotics and automation.

"Integrating MPS innovation with GF's manufacturing scale allows us to extend reach in high-growth electrification and AI markets with improved supply assurance," said Deming Xiao, executive vice president of global operations at MPS. Monolithic Power Systems was founded in 1997 and operates support offices globally.

Pradip Singh, chief manufacturing officer at GlobalFoundries, called the agreement "a reflection of the strength of GF's manufacturing platform and our ability to support customers as they scale innovative technologies into high-volume production." GlobalFoundries (NASDAQ: GFS), headquartered in Malta, New York, and Schaffhausen, Switzerland, operates manufacturing facilities across the United States, Europe, and Asia.

The partnership marks an expansion of GlobalFoundries' foundry relationships into power management semiconductor supply, where demand has accelerated alongside the growth of AI infrastructure and vehicle electrification.
